Emergency Medical Technician-Basic


Post-Secondary Application 

General Program Information
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) program is split into two levels.  In level 1, students will spend 150 hours in a traditional classroom and laboratory setting.  Level 2 requires a minimum of 40 hours of clinical experience and a minimum of 20 patient contacts.  Students must pass Part 1 with an 80% or better to move onto Part 2.

Admission Criteria
*Accurate completion of the application
*Tuberculin skin test within the past 12 months or documentation as a previous positive reactor. 
*Proof of Rubella and Rubeola immunity by positive antibody titers or 2 doses of MMR.
*Varicella immunity, by positive history of chicken pox or proof of Varicella immunization.
*Proof of Hepatitis B immunization or declination of vaccine.
*Clear background check (We will run these once we receive all release forms).
*Letter of Intent
*A letter of professional recommendation from an employer, instructor, or co-worker in support of your application.  Please do not have a friend or family member fill out the letter of recommendation.
*$250 deposit paid by April 6, 2018
*Copy of social security card & valid driver's license or picture ID.

Cost
*Tuition for the spring 2018 session is $1,150 and can be made into 5 payments.  
*$250 deposit ($100 is non-refundable)
*$80 exam fee can be submitted directly to the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for certifications.
