Empowering students to build a successful career
Lex La-Ray Technical Center is one of 57 area vocational technical schools in the state of Missouri. The facility opened in 1975 and serves approximately 300 students each year.

At Lex La-Ray, we help students build job skills by offering a balanced program of classroom instruction and hands-on training. Together with our excellent staff and State-of-the-art equipment, this emphasis on knowing and doing helps students develop the career skills needed for success and future achievement.

Outstanding students from area schools have been chosen to be a part of Lex La-Ray Technical Center, including Concordia, Higginsville, Lexington, Odessa, Richmond, Santa Fe, Wellington, Hardin-Central, Norborne, Orrick, as well as students enrolled in area private schools and adults from West Central Missouri.


HIGHER EDUCATION EMERGENCY RELIEF 

Lex La Ray Technical Center was a recipient of the High Education Emergency Relief grant that was part of the CARES ACT signed into law by President Trump at the end of May. Lex La Ray was awarded $44,826 in the grant, 50% or $22,413 was required to go to students for Covid-19 relief.

To receive a grant as a student, the student must have been enrolled during the month of March, have a completed FAFSA on file, and been eligible to participate in Title IV funds. The student also had to sign an agreement to use the funds only for Covid-19 disruptions. As outlined in the agreement students agreed to:

In order to receive the HEERF award students are to agree to use the funds
to cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (including eligible
expenses under a student’s cost of attendance, such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care.

Lex La Ray Technical Center recognized that each student was affected by Covid-19. Each full time student that met the above requirements was awarded a grant of $1,000.00. Each part time student that met the above requirements received a grant of $500.00

Lex La Ray gave out 22 full time grants and 1 part time grant as of September 30, 2020. This totaled $22,500 which is above the 50% requirement. This is the FINAL Report
