Lex La-Ray Technical Center New Staff for 2021-2022

Hi, my name is Ryan Tucker.  I am excited to begin my first year at Lex
La-Ray Technical Center, as the Building Trades Instructor.  I have worked construction/building for the last 22 years.  During that time, I have owned my own remodeling business in Florida, before moving to Missouri in 2013.  I then began working with a local contractor to learn the full building trade from start to finish.  In 2015 I started my own business as a general contractor.  The building trade itself is one of my passions, but another is teaching it.  I am looking forward to a room full of students eager to learn this trade.  I firmly believe in the saying-"Whatever good things we build end up building us!"  I am ready to get started building with each student and my new career! ~Ryan Tucker

Hello, my name is Sarah Chaney.  I am so excited to be the new Early Childhood Teaching Professions instructor at Lex La-Ray Technical Center.  Teaching, mentoring, and encouraging a new generation of childcare professionals and educators is something that I feel very passionate about.  Teaching has been a wonderful and rewarding career path for me, and I hope to be able to share this with young people with an interest in this field.  I look forward to also sponsoring the FCCLA chapter at Lex La-Ray.  I have been blessed to spend 22 years teaching in the Lexington R-V School District.  I began teaching at Leslie Bell Elementary, Early Childhood Special Education, then moved to second grade.  After 8 and a half years, I spent 4 years teaching 5th grade at Lexington Middle School.  Then I returned to LBS to teach 1st grade and then most recently 4th grade.  I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a teaching degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education.  I later earned my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from William Woods University.  My husband Lynn and I, along with our 4 children, Courtney, Kimberly, Dale and Misty live in Lexington.  Our oldest two daughters have graduated high school and are working in our community.  Dale will be a senior, and Misty will be a freshman at Lexington High School.  Our family keeps busy with church and school events.  ~Sarah Chaney
